Headaches ache
I went to bed early last night because I had become nearly immobilized with a bad headache.
Usually, I can’t wake up very easily so my alarm is set to the local news channel WTOP and the volume is set to full blast.
5:20am rolled around and the alarm went off. My heart instantly jumped up to speed, and so did my headache – It was now instantly worse than it had been the night before. It pounded with the beat of my currently rapid heart.
After my pulse slowed and the headache remained, I went upstairs. It was now 5:25am. Upon entering the kitchen I walked to the drug cupboard and took one Excedrin.
I then walked back downstairs to my bed and tried to go back to sleep. My pulse quickened and the headache bumped with the new rhythm.
By 6:15 my headache was gone (To temporarily resurface as I ran up the stairs after getting a lunch from the downstairs freezer).
Normally two Excedrin wouldn’t have completely gotten rid of it for several hours, but thanks to suggestions from friends, I hadn’t had caffeine since August 30, 2004.
